Our good friend and jazz singer extraordinaire Ian Shaw has been leading the way in helping the thousands of refugees currently stranded in Calais. In between gigs and recording and running Jazz Vocal Workshops at The Premises, Ian goes to Calais up to three days a week to help out with whatever’s needed. Other artists have been going over there with him, including Polly Gibbons, Gwyneth Herbert and Georgia Mancio. Now that winter’s coming on, there’s a rush to get waterproof shelters built, warm clothing and a million other essentials. Premises people, please help out, do whatever you can. If you can’t spare the time to go there, then write your MP, share the links and most important, donate some dosh via Ian’s website. He’ll make sure that penny is spent directly on aiding those in the camp. http://www.ianshaw.biz/Calais/– https://twitter.co/ianshawjazz– https://www.facebook.com/ian.shaw.798
