Here's one for all you budding or fully flowered bassists and drummers who want to improve technique, locking in, and getting some industry insider tips by one of the biggest names in the business, Yolanda Charles.
Yolanda is one of the most in demand bass players in the industry , having worked with Hans Zimmer, BB King, Mick Jagger, Paul Weller, Squeeze, Queen, Eric Clapton and countless others. Now she divides her passions between her own band, teaching and collaborations.
This summer, over the 13th and 14th of June, Yolanda and Nico Py will be running a masterclass, the same content on each day so that everyone has more space, attention, and chance to play.
This time, we will have a maximum of 12-14 people on each day, hopefully with a fairly even mix of bass players and drummers.
Some of you wanted to get on the previous course but it was sold out, and others wanted to bring a friend (perhaps a bandmate) so I am giving all of you who have asked about this or participated a long lead time so you can have a think if this works for you time wise, budget wise, and anything else that you might want to consider, such as travel.
Not for absolute beginners, but if you write and tell me your experience I can tell you if you are a good fit.
Yolanda has the perfect combination of an easygoing teaching style and an intuitive feel for what works in a song and what does not.
