Our most popular jazz piano recording course, run by the indefatigable Nikki Yeoh, is
coming on for its 27th year with a great new line up of tutors.
As well as Nikki, who runs the whole show and makes sure every participant is studio ready by recording day, we welcome Zoe Rahman - classically trained composer, jazz pianist and Ivor Novello award winner. She will focus on getting students more confident in hand independence and playing in odd timings and brings a wealth of experience in playing in most genres. More here: www.zoerahman.com
We also welcome Andrew Chen - composer, jazz pianist, musical director and free improvisor who has composed for the Royal Philharmonic Society. He will focus on harmonies. You can read more about him here: www.andrewchen.ac.
We also say Yay! to the return of expert tutor Tim Richards: jazz pianist, educator, composer and bandleader. His focus here is on blues and he has a ton of tutorial videos and books to help you feel more confident in every aspect of playing. You can read more about him at
On day four you will be rehearsing with our stellar rhythm section, Miles Pillinger and Dominic Howles, getting ready for your studio slot the following day.
You will be expertly guided through every step of the recording process by Nikki Yeoh, who,
amongst her many teaching and playing, and recording gigs, can be heard on Jazz FM in her
weekly programme.
You can choose to record from a wide variety of jazz and blues classics, and can stay on later after lessons on the first three days to rehearse to your heart’s content.
Within a few days you will have an expertly mixed recording of your track.
At £395 for all five days plus recording, we think it’s an absolute bargain.
